Now that we have experimented with clay, we are going to go to the library to find out more about it. You will need to look at books and Internet websites that can be found on the resources page. There are also some worksheets that you will need to look at for research ideas.

Grab your library bag, journal and a writing pencil.

We are going to experiment with clay, seeing how it feels when we use our hands to mould it and the shapes we can make. Think about how it feels on your hands and the tools you might need if you were making something, also think about what you might be able to make using clay.

You will need your art smock for this activity! 

Next we will be working in groups of 3 to do some brainstorming. You will need to think about how the clay felt while you were moulding it as well as all that you found out when you were researching clay in the library.

You will need some butchers paper and colourful pencils to write down all of your ideas. If you get stuck for ideas or aren't sure what it should look like there is an example on the resources page. 

Present your thoughts to the class.
